Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's Maserati brand is developing semi-automated driving technologies to offer in vehicles by 2018.
The company's so-called “highway pilot” system will be a mid-cycle update to Maserati’s new Levante crossover vehicle, CEO Harald Wester tells reporters. Other likely recipients are the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans that share a platform with the Levante.
The Levante, which is currently being launched in Europe and will bow this autumn in the U.S., features several driver-assist systems. These include adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
