Two unions that represent PSA Group workers in France are alarmed by the company’s decision to move production of the Opel Grandland X crossover vehicle from France to Germany.
PSA announced the shift earlier today as part of an agreement that gave the company wage concessions at three Opel plants in Germany in exchange for a promise to protect jobs and commit future product programs to the facilities.
PSA says it will replace a portion of the lost production at its Grandland assembly plant in Sochaux by taking on overflow production of the Peugeot 5008 small crossover vehicle. But the unions are demand specifics about the likely volume of 5008 output to come.
