Jan Ake Jonsson, CEO of the former Saab Automobile AB, has been charged in a Swedish district court with lying in 2011 about an import-wholesaling agreement in the Ukraine, Reuters reports.
Two other former Saab executives also have been charged in the matter, according to Reuters. Jonsson retired in May 2011. That was seven months before the company, which had been acquired in 2010 by Dutch supercar maker Spyker NV, declared bankruptcy.
Jonsson, along with Saab's former general counsel and its chief financial officer, were arrested in 2013 on charges of falsifying the company's financial records in 2010-2011 to evade taxes. Jonsson's attorney describes the new charges as "groundless and premature."
