Former Lear CEO Joins Cooper-Standard Board

Matt Simoncini, who retired last November as CEO of Lear Corp., will join Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc.’s board of directors on Aug. 1.

Matt Simoncini, who retired last November as CEO of Lear Corp., will join Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc.’s board of directors on Aug. 1.

Novi, Mich.-based Cooper-Standard makes fuel and brake lines, fluid transfer hoses, sealings and anti-vibration systems. The company had sales of $3.6 billion last year.

Simoncini joined Lear in 1999 when the company acquired United Technologies Automotive, and became CEO in 2011. He will continue to serve as an advisor to Lear through the end of the year.

Simoncini also serves on the board of the Wayne State University Foundation and several non-profit and community organizations. Reports that the outspoken leader would run for governor of Michigan this year never materialized.
