December sales jumped 13% to 107,200 cars and trucks after expanding 2% in November, according to the company. Sales slipped 1% in October.
Ford has said its volume in China is hindered by a lack of sufficient local production capacity. The company and its partners operate eight factories in the country, including a $350 million assembly plant in Chongqing that can make 300,000 vehicles per year. Two more facilities are under construction.
