Ford Motor Co. says it will add 2,200 salaried employees in the U.S. this year, thus bringing that payroll to 30,200 employees.
It will be Ford's biggest white-collar hiring spree in more than 10 years.
Many of the new jobs are related to its expanding lineup of fuel-efficient models, according to the company. It says the staff increases will focus on information technology, manufacturing and product development.
