The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif., has added a first-generation Ford Motor Co. Sync in-car telematics module to its permanent collection.
The museum says the Sync system, which enables the driver to speak commands rather than push buttons, is a good example of the spread of consumer communications and entertainment into the vehicle. The Sync system was co-developed by Ford and Microsoft Corp.
