Ford Sales in China Dip 3%

Ford Motor Co. reports that sales by its ventures in China slipped to 88,200 units in May from 90,600 in the same month last year. Year-to-date sales were 479,500 vehicles, up 5% year on year.

Passenger car sales by Changan Ford Automobile last month totaled 67,100, slightly below last year’s 67,400. The venture’s sales in January-May climbed 11% to 370,300 units.

Jiangling Motors Corp., Ford’s commercial vehicle venture, saw May sales fall 6% to 19,700 units. The partnership’s sales through the first five months of 2016 dropped 9% to 102,200 units.
