Ford Sales in China Climb 22%

Ford Motor Co. and its two ventures in China delivered a record 96,500 passenger vehicles last month, up 22% from August 2015. Year-to-date sales in the country rose 8% to nearly 750,000 units.
Changan Ford, the company’s passenger car venture, hiked August volume 26% to 75,200 vehicles. Jiangling Motor Corp., which makes commercial vehicles, boosted its sales 16% to 20,000 units.
Ford says last month's results were driven by especially strong demand for the company’s small cars. Year-on-year sales of the Focus and Escort surged 92% and 49%, respectively. Deliveries of the Ford Edge small crossover more than tripled
