Ford Motor Co. and Roush Enterprises Inc. have developed a supercharger kit for the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 engine offered in the carmaker’s Mustang GT muscle car and F-150 pickup truck.

In the 2018 Mustang GT, the supercharger boosts output to 700 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque, up 52% and 45%, respectively. F-150 performance rockets 62% to 640 hp and 50% to 600 lb-ft of torque.

The blower is designed to work with the Coyote V-8's new dual fuel-injection technology, which combines port- and direct-systems. Ford says the supercharger generates 12 psi of boost pressure and can run on regular 93 octane gasoline.

The kit will be available early next year through Ford dealers, Ford Performance Warehouse Distributors and Roush Performance dealers. Pricing hasn’t been announced.
