Ford Motor Co. is calling back 37,800 large SUVs in North America to check for missing second-row seat reinforcement brackets.
The recall targets 2018 model Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs. More than 90% of the affected vehicles are located in the U.S.
Ford says that if one or both so-called J-channel brackets are missing, the seat could come loose in a crash. In such cases, dealers will replace the center seat frame assembly. Until repairs are made, Ford advises owners to move the second-row seat as far back on its tracks as possible.
