Ford Motor Co. dealers will fix 205,000 of its 2010-2013 model Lincoln MKS and Ford Taurus and Police Interceptor sedans in the U.S. to fix interior door handle mechanisms that could fail and allow the door to open in a side-impact crash.
Ford says dealers will inspect all four latch devices and repair or replace springs that could become unseated and allow the door to open if jarred.
A smaller recall will repair 16,100 of the company's 2014 model Ford Transit Connect vans sold in the U.S. The vehicles have seatbelt fasteners that weren't properly tightened. Dealers also will tighten cargo tie-down hooks in the cargo area.
