Ford Motor Co. aims to expand its distribution network in China by about 110 dealerships this year, thus bringing the total to 510 outlets, says Asia-Pacific chief Joe Hinrichs.

Ford previously said it aims to have nearly 700 dealers there by 2015. The company plans to introduce 15 models and double its annual production capacity to 1.5 million vehicles in China by that date.

Hinrichs tells reporters Ford also will expand its product development center in Nanjing.

The company's sales in China jumped 24% in April to 54,900 vehicles.
