Ford Motor Co. is working with Israel's Mishor 3D Ltd. to tailor the Israeli company's head-up display technology to future Ford vehicles, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Mishor's system projects navigation graphics onto the windshield so they appear to be on the road itself. The display uses a combination of sensors and geo-location data to determine where to position lines, arrows and text on the screen.

The four-year-old company's system also can appear to superimpose symbols on buildings to indicate to a driver the location of cash machines, restaurants and other points of interest.

Mishor markets its product as ShadowBox, a rendering engine that can be integrated into a vehicle's head-up display, infotainment system, smartphone or augmented-reality glasses.
