Ford Paid CEO Mulally $23 Million in 2013

Ford Motor Co. increased the total compensation paid to CEO Alan Mulally 11% to $23.2 million last year, according to a regulatory filing.
Ford paid Mulally a $2 million base salary, $5.9 million in bonuses and $15.3 million in other compensation, including stock options, for his work in 2013. In 2012 Mulally received a $2 million salary, $4 million in bonuses and $15 million in other compensation.
Mulally joined Ford in 2006. The company lost $30 billion between 2006 and 2008 but has earned $42 billion in the five years since then. Analysts credit the turnaround to Mulally's successful efforts to end corporate fiefdoms, globalize the company and overhaul Ford's entire product lineup.
Ford reports that last year its top executive team delivered 112% of the combined performance goals set for them by the company's board. They overperformed on cash flow and pretax profit targets but fell short on quality (88% of target), costs (77%) and market share (65%).
