Ford Opens Sales Office in Morocco

Ford Motor Co. has opened a sales office in Morocco and plans to double its purchases of car parts there for its factory in Valencia, Spain.

Ford cites the country's skilled labor and "extremely good" infrastructure. The company says it will double its orders for Moroccan-made steering wheels, seat covers and vehicle wiring.

Morocco produces more than 200,000 cars per year and exports most of them. Last year the country shipped €3.7 billion worth of vehicles, the Associated Press notes. AP says cars now account for about 20% of all Moroccan exports.
