Ford Motor Co. is recalling 202,000 vehicles in five campaigns in North America to repair airbag sensors, fuel leaks, steering components, brake pedal and engine stalling issues in 2005-2014 model vehicles.
The largest recall involves 135,000 of the company's 2014 model F-150 pickup trucks and Ford Flex large wagons. Dealers will adjust the seat track and recalibrate weight sensors in the passenger seat that may fail to signal the passenger-side airbags to deploy when they should.
A separate campaign will re-repair lower intermediate steering shafts in 38,600 Crown Victory (2005-2011 model years), Lincoln Town Cars (2005-2011) and Mercury Grand Marquis (2005-2011) large sedans. Ford says repairs made during a previous recall may have left the cars prone to a sudden loss of steering.
Ford also is recalling:
27,600 Transit Connect small vans made during the 2014 model year and equipped with 2.5-liter engines. Dealers will reroute fuel and vapor lines that could rub together and leak.
950 of the company's 2014 model F-150 pickups to adjust a brake pedal sensor that determines when the brake lights illuminate. The problem also makes it more difficult to disengage the cruise control, so Ford advises affected customers to avoid using that feature until their trucks are repaired.
90 diesel-powered 2015 model Transit commercial vans to fix a fuel filter bracket that could come loose and eventually cause the engine to stall.
