Ford India Sales Jump 27%

Ford Motor Co. reports sales in India of 14,100 wholesale and export vehicles last month compared with 11,100 in August 2013.

The company's exports from India more than doubled to 7,300 units, but domestic sales fell 15% to 6,800 vehicles.

Ford's most popular model is the EcoSport SUV. The vehicle is assembled in Chennai, where Ford is preparing to add a third production shift.
