Ford Motor Co. is expanding it recall of cars with door latches that may fail to 545,900 vehicles from the 389,600 units it recalled in North America a week ago.
The broader campaign adds 2011 model Fiesta minicars to the 2012-2014 models already being called back. It also widens the range of 2013-2014 model Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ midsize sedans previously recalled.
Ford says it is aware of two minor injuries related to the defect. Dealers will replace all four latches in affected cars.
