Ford Motor Co. will reintroduce its top-end Limited trim level for the F-150 fullsize pickup truck as a 2016 model this winter. Pricing hasn't been announced, but reports say the package will cost at least $60,000.
Ford dropped the Limited option at the end of the 2013 model year. The package rejoins the lineup as a sixth trim level positioned above the current XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum options.
Ford describes the new Limited as its most advanced and luxurious truck ever. Standard features include 22-inch polished wheels, a large sunroof, power running boards, remote tailgate release, automatic lane-keeping, a 360 camera system, cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, front and rear heated/cooled seats with massaging front seats, integrated trailer braking, trailer hitch assist system and 10-speaker Sony audio system.
Among the exterior touches unique to the Limited package are a special grille, quad-beam LED headlamps, raised "Limited" lettering on the hood and satin-finish chrome door handles and rear badge.
The F-150 Limited's standard engine is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 rated at 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque with a U.S. government city/highway fuel economy rating of 20 mpg. The powerplant delivers its output through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Optional four-wheel drive includes a system that automatically shifts between two- and four-wheel drive depending on traction conditions.
