A federal jury in Tacoma, Wash., has concluded that Ford Motor Co.'s in-car computing systems did not infringe on four patents owned by Washington state-based Eagle Harbor Holdings LLC, Reuters reports. The decision clears Ford of a $240 million damage claim.

The jury also agreed with a Ford countersuit claiming Eagle Harbor stole Ford trade secrets, patented them and then tried to coax Ford into paying license fees to continue using them.

Ford says Eagle Harbor obtained the secret documents from the employee of a Ford supplier. It was not immediately clear whether the jury awarded damages to carmaker.
