Illinois-based supplier Flex-N-Gate Corp. is investing $175 million to move its Texas operations from Arlington a new 430,200 sq-ft production complex in Grand Prairie.

The new complex also will get a 50,000 sq-ft addition for offices, labs and break rooms to house corporate operations being relocated from Arlington. The company says move-in will begin at the end of June and continue into December.

The new plant will handle production of front and rear plastic bumpers for the General Motors Co. SUV factory currently performed by the Arlington factory. That facility will be closed, with nearly 200 workers there transferring to Grand Prairie. Flex-N-Gate expects to hire another 500 workers at the new facility by 2020.
