First Prison Sentence Handed Down in FCA-UAW Corruption Scandal
Monica Morgan-Holiefield, the widow of United Auto Workers union executive General Holiefield, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for her role in a corruption scandal at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.

Monica Morgan-Holiefield, the widow of United Auto Workers union executive General Holiefield, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for her role in a corruption scandal at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
Morgan-Holiefield’s late husband headed the UAW’s Chrysler contract negotiating team in 2009-2014. Investigators have so far identified $4.5 million in funds siphoned off from a UAW-FCA training center and used by FCA and UAW employees to buy trips, designer clothing, luggage and cars.
The investigation has led to criminal charges against six others too. They have struck deals with prosecutors in exchange for agreeing to cooperate in the probe.
