A building in downtown Detroit that Adient plc is remodeling to be its headquarters caught fire early Friday morning.

The blaze, which took two hours to extinguish, is believed to have started in a construction elevator on the ninth floor of the 10-story Marquette building. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire. Adient doesn’t expect the incident will affect its plans for the building.

However, the company says $50 million restoration of the 111-year old structure is taking longer than it planned. Adient had hoped to move into the building in mid-2019.

The seating giant, which was spun off from Johnson Controls Inc. in late 2016, currently is based in Plymouth, Mich.
