Economic expectations for Germany remain strongly positive among financial experts, according to January's ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment.
Optimism about the country's outlook is at 61.7 points, compared with a historical average of 24.4, according to the Mannheim-based research institute. Sentiment about current conditions in the country rose 8.8 index points to a 21-month high of 41.2 this month.
ZEW notes that its expectations index for the eurozone climbed 5 points to 73.3, and the indicator of optimism about the region's current economic health gained 6.2 points to -48.2.
