Today Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV unveiled an all-new compact sedan that will be offered in 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Sales will begin in Turkey in November.

The five-passenger sedan, which succeeds the Fiat Linea, is 4.5 meters long, 178 cm wide and 148 cm tall. It will be joined next year by a hatchback and later by a wagon.

All three models are part of the Aegea family of vehicles, and each will receive a specific model name later. FCA's joint-venture factory in Bursa, Turkey, will build all iterations.

The new models will ride on FCA's "small wide" platform that carries FCA's Jeep Renegade SUV and Fiat 500L and 500X minicars. Powertrain options will include an automatic or manual transmission and a selection of two turbodiesels and two gasoline engines rated between 95 hp and 120 hp.

The hatchback variant due next year will succeed the Fiat Bravo. FCA hasn't indicated when the wagon will follow.
