Joint venture factories that make Fiat and Ford vehicles in Turkey restored production today after a week of labor disruptions, Reuters reports. Renault's assembly operations remain idled.
Fiat's Tofas venture in Bursa and Ford's Otosan operations in Gluck and Yenikoy resumed output. Both companies are partnered with Istanbul-based Koc Holding AS.
Renault's Oyak Renault venture in Bursa remain idled. The French carmaker says it might reconsider further investment in Turkey if labor instability persists.
Reuters says protests erupted after the country's Turk Metal union won a 60% wage hike at a supplier last month but was refused similar deals elsewhere.
