Federal-Mogul to Expand Michigan Tech Center

Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp. is expanding its technical center in suburban Detroit 36% to 120,000 sq ft and will relocate 140 employees there to bolster its powertrain division, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

The $9 million consolidation is expected to start in mid-summer, with relocations from Cleveland and two locations in Michigan to begin in the first quarter of 2016.

Federal-Mogul, which moved its headquarters a few miles last year, plans by year-end to divide itself into two publicly traded companies: one for original-equipment business and one for aftermarket operations.
