February Truck Sales in Europe Climb 17%

Deliveries of commercial vehicles across Europe rose to 165,800 units in February from 141,500 units in the same month last year, according to industry group ACEA.

Deliveries of commercial vehicles across Europe rose to 165,800 units in February from 141,500 units in the same month last year, according to industry group ACEA. It was the market’s 14th consecutive month of year-on-year growth.

All segments reported gains in February. Light commercial vehicles grew 16% to 136,800 units. Heavy-truck deliveries climbed 22% to 21,600. Medium-duty trucks jumped 28% to nearly 5,100. Medium- and heavy-buses increased 10% to 2,400.

Truck sales rose in every European market except Greece, where deliveries plunged 63% to 290. In the region’s largest markets, truck sales grew in France (+14% to 37,100 units), Germany (+16% to 25,600), the U.K. (+4% to 16,600), Spain (+18% to 14,700) and Italy (+30% to 14,400
