Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has restated its vehicle sales data for 2015 and 2016, resulting in a 3% sales gain for August compared with the originally reported 2% decline.
The swing comes from the company’s new method of reporting fleet sales, which now reports the activity when vehicles are actually delivered. Last month fleet sales accounted for 24% of FCA’s volume in the U.S.
The revised figures put the company’s August sales, including Fiat brand cars, at 196,800 units compared with 190,900 for the same month last year.
