Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is recalling nearly 15,000 SUVs to find eight vehicles that were fitted with a defective brake caliper.
The campaign covers 2015-2016 model Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokees. FCA says about 96% of them were sold in the U.S.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports the targeted SUVs were built with a left-front caliper made with the wrong material. NHTSA says the device could crack and stop working, thereby decreasing braking capacity. FCA reports no customer complaints or crashes.
