The campaign covers 2014 model Cherokees equipped with 3.2-liter V-6 engines, more than 80% of which are in the U.S.
The defect is a clutch valve inside the gearbox that can stick. Dealers will reprogram the transmission control module. FCA plans to begin the recall within the next two months.
