FCA Issues Another Hack-Related Software Update
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is recalling 7,800 of its 2015 model Jeep Renegade SUVs to fix a software flaw that could allow the vehicle to be hacked and controlled remotely.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is recalling 7,800 of its 2015 model Jeep Renegade SUVs to fix a software flaw that could allow the vehicle to be hacked and controlled remotely.
The campaign is similar to one announced in July covering 1.4 million FCA cars, trucks and SUVs equipped with 8.4-inch touchscreens. But this one involves a different type of infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display screen.
In both cases, wireless features in the system could be breached by a cyber attack. Dealers will update the system's software to block unauthorized remote access. FCA says about half the affected vehicles have not yet been sold to customers.
