Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has named Mark Chernoby as chief technical compliance officer, a new position in the company, effective immediately.
Chernoby most recently was chief operating officer for FCA’s engineering and development. In his new job, he will oversee all regulatory compliance programs worldwide, including fuel economy, emissions and safety areas.
CEO Sergio Marchionne says the new job is critical because of the accelerated pace of new rulemaking in major markets and will “substantially reduce” FCA's risk of noncompliance.
