Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will increase hourly wages by 9.5% to end a lengthy strike at its Fiat 500L small-car plant in Kragujevac, Serbia.

Reuters says local media reports indicate the new contract will boost monthly wages to 42,000 dinars ($406) through 2018 from 38,500 dinars ($372) last year.

Last summer the company eliminated one of three production shifts at the factory,

which had employed 3,100 workers. The €1 billion facility is two-thirds owned by FCA and one-third by the Serbian government. The plant produced about 100,000 cars in 2015, almost all of which were exported to Europe and the U.S.
