FCA Adds More Jeeps to Airbag Software Recall

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has added 68,600 more units to an earlier recall of Jeep Cherokees to fix an airbag software flaw.
The campaign, which targets 2014-2015 Cherokees, now covers 316,800 vehicles worldwide.
FCA says the seat-mounted and side airbags in affected vehicles may inflate in off-road conditions if the system believes the SUV might roll over. Dealers are reprogramming the software to be less sensitive to the gyrations of off-road driving.
