Truckmakers sold 248,800 vehicles in Europe last month, up 8% from March 2015, according to industry group ACEA. It was the 15th consecutive month of year-on-year gain.
Sales of light commercial vehicles climbed 7% to 209,900 units in March. Heavy-truck volume grew 12% to 28,500 units. Sales of medium and heavy buses advanced 2% to 3,900.
Last month’s volumes rose in the U.K. (+3% to 70,600 units), France (+6% to 43,800), Germany (+3% to 32,000) and Italy (+29% to 16,800). Deliveries slipped 1% to 17,600 trucks in Spain.
Overall commercial truck sales in the first quarter of 2016 rose 12% to 580,800 vehicles, ACEA reports.
