Three Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV employees are seeking class-action status for a lawsuit against the company and the United Auto Workers union.
The complaint accuses the company of violating collective bargaining agreements and the union of accepting bribes. The lawsuit says the illegal behavior wasted hundreds of millions of dollars in dues paid by UAW members on “tainted” labor contract negotiations.
The lawsuit notes that former FCA labor chief Alphonse Iacobelli has already pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiring to bribe UAW officers and employees. The plaintiffs, who demand a jury trial, filed their lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Detroit last Friday.
