Last week’s deadly earthquake in northern Japan has disrupted parts supplies to Toyota Motor Corp. and forced the carmaker to suspend domestic output of all Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles.

Among Toyota facilities that suspended operations over the weekend are its Kyushu, Tahara and Toyota Auto Body plants. Toyota says it will begin reopening its factories on Tuesday should return to normal production rates on Sept. 13.

The magnitude 6.7 quake hit the Japanese island of Hokkaido on Sept. 6, killing at least 39 people and knocking out power to the entire island.

The shutdown, which began on Saturday, will affect some models exported to the U.S. The company says the interruption will not impact Toyota-brand models built by Toyota’s Daihatsu Motor Co. affiliate.
