dSPACE Names Waeltermann as President in U.S.

Peter Waeltermann has been officially appointed president of dSPACE Inc., the North American unit of Germany's dSPACE GmbH, effective immediately.

Waeltermann succeeds Kevin Kott, who has retired from the position he held since late 2001. The Wixom, Mich.-based company's staff has nearly tripled to more than 75 during Kott's tenure.

dSPACE markets electronic testing systems that enable carmakers to simulate performance variables for subsystems up to and including a vehicle's entire electrical and electronic network. The technology enables rapid prototyping work and virtual validation.

The company also offers a production software code generator that helps speed development time for such devices as electronic control units.
