In conjunction with the new James Bond movie, Spectre, Aston Martin is launching a new DB9 GT Bond Edition car. The limited-edition model also marks the 50th anniversary of the nameplate's association with the debonair fictional super spy.
The ultra-tricked out DB10, developed exclusively for Spectre, won't be available to the public. The movie is due in theaters later this year.
Based on the new DB9 GT, the Bond Edition is fitted with a host of high-end equipment and accessories, special badging and up-level appointments and trim.
The exterior gets a unique Spectre Silver paint finish and "007 Bond Edition" lettering. These are in addition to upgrades such as black gloss 10-spoke 20-inch, gray brake calipers, aluminum body accents and carbon fiber aero elements.
Inside, owners are greeted with a Bond Edition welcome screen on the infotainment system. The famous 007 gun barrel logo can be seen between the rear seats. Buyers also will receive matching Aston Martin-badged luxury suitcases and watches.
As with the standard DB9 GT, the special-edition model will be powered by a 540-hp V-12 engine.
Aston Martin plans to build just 150 of the Bond cars, which start at $240,000. Over the years the British company has showcased its vehicles in 10 Bond films, starting with the DB5 in the 1965 classic Goldfinger.
