Ford Motor Co. is recalling 1.3 million of its late-model F-150 series pickup trucks in North America to fix door mechanisms that may freeze in winter and not latch properly.
The campaign applies to 2015-2017 model F-150 and 2017 model Super Duty trucks. In affected trucks, the problem can prevent the door from opening or closing. Or, it may hinder the latch from fully engaging, which could allow the door to open unexpectedly when the truck is moving.
Dealers will install a water shield for each side door latch and make repairs to the mechanism as needed.
