PSA Peugeot Citroen and its Chinese partner DongFeng Motor Group plan to launch a new large sedan that will be built and sold exclusively in China.

The all-new model will be marketed as the Citroen C6, reviving the nameplate last used in Europe in 2012. It will ride on a stretched version of the modular EMP2 platform that carries the Citroen C4 Picasso minivan and Peugeot 308 wagon.

Engine options are expected to include two turbocharged 4-bangers (1.8- and 2.0-liter mills). A hybrid-electric variant also is rumored.

The partners released a sketch of the vehicle this week and are expected to publicly unveil the production model at the Beijing auto show in April. DongFeng PSA already has begun pilot production of the vehicle and will launch sales later this year.
