Dongfeng, Getrag Form Transmission Venture
Germany's Getrag International GmbH has agreed to create a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co. in Wuhan, China, to supply transmissions for the Chinese automaker's cars and light commercial vehicles.

Germany's Getrag International GmbH has agreed to create a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co. in Wuhan, China, to supply transmissions for the Chinese automaker's cars and light commercial vehicles.
The 50:50 venture, Dongfeng Getrag Transmission Co., plans to launch production in late 2015. The partners say their first product will be a fuel-efficient six-speed dual-clutch gearbox for city cars and compact vehicles in China.
Getrag already has three factories in China's southeastern province of Jiangxi, including a manual transmission plant, a parts facility and a transmission joint venture with Jiangling Motors Co.
