Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is recalling 27,500 of its 2013-2015 model Dodge Dart small cars to fix dual-clutch transmissions that may spontaneously shift into neutral.

About 85% of cars involved in the global campaign are in the U.S. Fewer than 500 were sold outside North America.

FCA says a bracket in the transmission's electronic control module can disrupt a circuit board and cause the car to slip out of gear. The engine remaining running, however, and the power steering, power brakes and airbags are not affected. The company reports no accidents or injuries linked to the flaw.
