The 2016 Detroit auto show, which closed Sunday evening, says the event drew 5,100 media and 815,600 public visitors during its two-week run. Attendance was second only to the 838,100 visitors attracted in 2003.
The reconfigured Detroit show hosted 61 new-vehicle introductions, 90% of them worldwide debuts. The show’s signature kickoff, Charity Preview, drew more than 13,000 attendees and raised $5.2 million for eight regional children’s charities.
