The North American International Auto Show is adding a 120,000-sq-ft advanced mobility expo in January.
Dubbed AutoMobili-D, the display area and demonstration track within Detroit’s Cobo Center will highlight advances in autonomous driving, connected cars and mobility services. NAIAS says the facility will feature more than 100 carmakers, suppliers and tech startups.
The expo will debut with an open house on Sunday, Jan. 8, and run through media and industry preview days Jan 9-12. NAIAS plans multiple AutoMobili-D-related press conferences during the week. The expo will not continue during the auto show’s public days Jan. 14-22.
AutoMobili-D’s displays and participating companies are being coordinated by The House of New Mobility, a year-old German consultancy that promotes advanced mobility ecosystems. Detroit-based Techstars Mobility is handling the roster of participating startups, which is expected to surpass 50 companies.
