Daimler AG is adding another €600 million to the amount it may have to pay in fines associated with an EC antitrust investigation of Europe's commercial vehicle industry.

The company didn't indicate the size of its original provision, which it took in 2011 when the investigation began. That is when EC investigators made unannounced visits to the offices of Daimler, Iveco, MAN, Scania and Volvo.

The larger provision will impact Daimler's fourth-quarter pretax earnings but not its full-year outlook. The company says it expects its EBIT to grow significantly from 2013 to 2014.
