Daimler Ponders More Projects with Apple, Google

Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche says the company may explore an expanded relationship with such companies as Apple and Google.

"Many things are conceivable," he tells Deutsche Unternehmerboerse. In particular, he notes the prospect of using software from the two companies to link the Web to the vehicle could be "interesting to both sides."

But Zetsche emphasizes that Daimler has no intention of giving up a direct connection with its own customers. "We don't want to become contractors [that] supply hardware to third parties," he declares.
