Daimler May Relocate U.S. Mercedes-Benz Headquarters

Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz unit in the U.S. is pondering a plan to move its headquarters from Montvale, N.J., to Georgia or North Carolina, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Other media reports say Mercedes also has looked at sites in Florida, Texas and Virginia.

Mercedes-Benz USA's New Jersey headquarters employs about 1,000 people, who handle U.S. marketing, distribution and customer relations for the Mercedes brand. The unit has been based in New Jersey for more than 40 years.
